Introduction

As part of the work to improve maternity services across Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire, we would like to invite you to join us to talk about postnatal care (care after having a baby).

We are bringing together people who have used maternity services recently (within the last 4 years) and those who work in maternity services.  We want to work together to understand what good care after having a baby would look like.

The morning will have 4 sessions on different tables, each with a different topic.  You can choose 5 preferred topics from the 7 offered below (see Select Options button above) and we will allocate you a place to 4 of them. (It might not always be possible to allocate you to your choice because of numbers, but we will try our best).

Babies and children are welcome.

Information on the reimbursement of travel expenses will be available on the day.

Topics

  1. Neonatal care for new-born babies
  2. Care on the postnatal ward
  3. Information given to woman on discharge from maternity unit/care
  4. 6 – 8week postnatal maternal check and pelvic health
  5. Breastfeeding
  6. Postnatal mental health
  7. Partners, families and friends (support for partners, staying overnight on the ward)
