Implementing reasonable adjustments for people with a learning disability

18 September 2024 12:30pm – 1:30pmBST (+01:00)
Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

Do you know what reasonable adjustments are and how they can save lives?

Data shows that 49% of avoidable deaths in hospital are by people with a learning disability. This is compared to 22% of the general population.  17% of those avoidable deaths amongst people with learning disabilities were linked to respiratory conditions.*

This webinar focuses on sharing good practice and a toolkit to support you to implement reasonable adjustments within your service and meet the legal requirements.

A new video and toolkit https://necldnetwork.co.uk/work-programmes/health-inequalities/respiratory/reasonably-adjusted-respiratory-clinic-toolkit/ showcasing a reasonably adjusted clinic for patients with a learning disability, aims to help health and social care professionals to better support patients with a learning disability, and help reduce the number of avoidable deaths through respiratory conditions.
