East of England AI Forum

15 April 2025 11:00am – 12:00pmBST (+01:00)
Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

We are excited to invite you to the inaugural meeting of the East of England AI Forum, a new initiative developed in collaboration between the NHS England East Digital Transformation Team and Health Innovation East.

The forum intends to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among digital leaders to support and champion the responsible adoption of AI in healthcare.

To launch this initiative, we are hosting a series of webinars designed to explore key AI-related topics, “from opportunity to procurement”,  featuring subject matter experts and content that is credible, practical, and grounded in real-world experience.

Our first session; "Understanding Artificial Intelligence Through Organisational Policy", will take place on 15th April 2025, 11am-12pm.  It will provide a clear introduction to AI concepts, using Somerset NHS Foundation Trust's AI policy as a practical guide to demonstrate how these principles inform real-world decisions and actions.

Our subject matter expert will be Andy Mayne.

Andy is a senior NHS leader with experience establishing and leading Data Science, Operational Research, Analytical and Data Engineering teams in the Acute, Community and Ambulance Sectors. He is particularly interested in how Artificial Intelligence can be applied in the NHS and has published several papers and policies to outline how to do this safely. Most recently his work has involved providing advice to the DHSC and NHE England on AI regulation. (Further info on his current roles below)

This interactive session will include dedicated time for questions and group discussion, offering a great opportunity to engage with peers and deepen your understanding of AI in healthcare.
