Enhanced Therapeutic Observation and Care (ETOC) Webinar Series: Effective Therapeutic Intervention
Join the Nursing Directorate's Workforce Team between 1:30pm – 2:30pm on Thursday 5 December 2024 for the third webinar in our enhanced therapeutic observations and care (ETOC) series.
This webinar will focus on effective therapeutic intervention, and how organisations have embedded therapeutic intervention within their ETOC provision. The webinar will be chaired by James McLean MBE, NHS England’s Regional Chief Nurse for the North West region. James will be joined by colleagues from our Safer Staffing team and trust colleagues who will share their journey in this space.
This webinar is intended to support the sharing of good practice and support broader thinking around the importance of embedding effective therapeutic intervention within ETOC provision, especially when considering deconditioning, reducing violence and aggression, and stepping people off ETOC. We understand that the examples shared throughout this webinar may not be directly applicable to your organisation and that everyone may be at varying places in their journey, however we are hoping this webinar will inspire you think differently.
This event will be useful for anyone within your organisation responsible for the provision of ETOC, including, but not limited to, ETOC teams, nursing workforce leads, educators and transformation teams.
About the Enhanced Therapeutic Observation and Care (ETOC) programme
Demand for Enhanced Therapeutic Observation and Care (ETOC), often referred to as enhanced care, 1:1’s or specialling, has increased due to our aging population and complexity of patient presentation. Nursing leaders report the need to identify innovative workforce models to ensure that patient safety and experience can be maintained in the most appropriate way.
NHS England's Nursing Directorate's Workforce Team, in collaboration with Safer Staffing colleagues, have launched a programme of work which aims to support systems to develop and improve their approach to how enhanced therapeutic observations and care is assessed and provided, with patient safety and experience at the centre.
