A masterclass to introduce management of sexual misconduct in the NHS in England
Tuesday 12 November 2024 : 14:00 – 15:00pm

The 2023/24 NHS staff survey for England showed that one in eight workers – around 58,000 – had reported experiencing unwanted sexual behaviour last year, while one in 26 reported experiencing similar harassment from a work colleague.

The Sexual Misconduct policy launched on 16 October 2024, builds on the first ever Sexual Charter published September 2023 and is one of the most comprehensive public sector and employer packages to tackle sexual misconduct in the workplace.

To implement the charter further, the NHS aims to adopt a holistic, empathic and human-centred approach to tackling sexual misconduct at work, predicated on education and empowerment.

Participants will have the opportunity to shape the focus of future masterclasses in this short series. As part of the series, NHS people professionals will be able to learn, debate, and explore how to be at their best in promoting collective responsibility and action to ensure staff feel able to speak up, and have confidence that they will be given the support they need when they do.
