Ticket sales finished: 20 November 2024 4:00pm
In this one-hour webinar we will be looking at the burden of sepsis, antimicrobial resistance and poor infection outcomes for people with a learning disability, autism or both and highlight some practical tips for how healthcare professionals can more easily identify sepsis in this patient cohort and how these patients differ from others.
Our speakers will also share practical advice on how healthcare professionals can support the safe and effective administration of antibiotics to people with a learning disability, autism or both and hear about other considerations when selecting antibiotics (for example due to risk of resistance and treatment failure of standard first-line treatments or risk of drug interactions with medicines) used in people with a learning disability, autism or both.
We will also discuss how parents and carers can safely provide self-care for people with a learning disability, autism or both to prevent infection or provide support when there is a suspected infection.
