Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

A North East & Yorkshire Region Experience of Care Lunch & Learn

Join us on Microsoft Teams to hear about the development of two resource packs  - one in North Lincolnshire and one in York to support teams to better identify, signpost and support unpaid carers.

(Please note that the link for the event will be sent the day before the event and we suggest marking the session in your calendar using the function above)

This event is for anyone who has an interest in projects to improve the experience of unpaid carers, those with an interest in coproduction and those with an interest in projects that promote integrated working.  The event will provide an opportunity to hear about the development of the two resource packs and have a discussion with those who led the work.

The teams that developed the packs were made up of Unpaid Carers, Local Authority, Voluntary Sector Organisations and Primary Care staff. The outcome of both projects is a local guide to supporting carers that provides a place for information that can be used by teams to identify, support and signpost carers.

The guides highlight the impact that a caring role can have and the importance of teams being able to identify carers. They set out definitions and examples of caring roles and provide hints and tips on the best way that staff can talk to carers. They also set out guidance on how to create a carer friendly culture and sources of support to which carers can be signposted.

Warmly received by teams the resources were initially developed to support teams in Primary Care but join us to hear more about the usefulness of the resource across the system.
